June 10, 2024 – ZAIAN Design redefines outdoor living with its groundbreaking Modular Eco-Terrace System, now showcased on the top floor of the M Hotel.

Designed to withstand California’s wildfire-prone climate and seismic activity, the system features:
Ergonomic benches with adaptive curvature, refined through 37 iterations in the California Design Lab.

Earthquake-resistant planter modules with hidden drainage channels that prevent flooding during El Niño rains, paired with drought-tolerant succulents and native sagebrush (98% survival rate over 18 months).
Solar-reflective UV coating tested to 158°F, maintaining 25.6 MPa flexural strength even in Death Valley-level heat.

18 months after installation, data showed that guest stay time increased by 210%.
"This is really the building material of my dreams," said Ethan, the chief designer. "This ASA board has excellent performance and will not be corroded or moldy by water. And it has an ASA layer on the surface, so there is no need to worry about fading due to long-term sunlight or ultraviolet rays."
